"The Frequency of Freestyle"

A holistic dance intensive designed to free your creative spirit through explorative improv drills and grounding techniques of African dance, Yoga and Brazilian Capoeira.  Utilizing an organic approach to movement vocabulary, transitions and floorwork, this course will delve deep into the dance of our physical, emotional and energetic bodies. Aiming to guide dancers of all levels and styles to unveil their fullest potential through mindfulness intention and connection.

In this course we will look deeply into breaking free from self judgement, getting out of your head, how to channel your innate ancestral movement and utilize intention as a creative force.

Each day we will dive deeper into foundational Capoeira techniques and various African diaspóric dances including Sabar, Afro Cuban, Afro Brazilian, djembe, afrobeat, coupé d'cale, congolese, funk carioca, house contemporary and hip hop. Daily technical drills will build over the week as we examine fun transitions, new vocabulary and breathwork.
