In 2024 there are several projects and programs that desperately need your support. All of these will result in us continuing and expanding our reach and our capacity to serve the work we love so much. Please look over these initiatives and give at a larger level if possible. BIPOC Scholarships: Throughout the year The Field Center offers 3-4 fully subsidized and non-application based spots for Black, Indigenous and POC participants who wish to come to our programs but otherwise not be able to due to inherent financial structural inequities. F.I.R.E. Gathering: This new residency invites up to 25 Indigenous artists from all modalities to come for a week to discuss, strategize and connect with fellow artists working in the u.s./canada today, offering a rare chance for the folks to make work, rest and be in residency as a group. Travel Stipends, Room and Board provided. Learn more HERE.

NEW OUTDOOR DANCE + PERFORMANCE PAVILION: This April we will begin construction on a 1.5k sq foot new outdoor studio at the Field Center! Our largest new initiative this year, this new space will allow us to expand our capacity by 15-20 persons per event between May + October! It will create a larger dance floor for phrase-based and choreographic material, and offer an outdoor performance venue that we can both host events and be rented to others for local public events. This is a long needed and very important step for us and we NEED your support to make it real!

WHEELCHAIR ACCESIBLE SHOWERS: Though the majority of our studios, half of our bedrooms, as well as our kitchen and dining room are all currently accessible by wheelchair, we do not, as of yet, have wheelchair accessible showers in any of our bedrooms. This means that participants confined to wheelchairs who wish to attend our multi-day events cannot easily bathe or have the same access to the amenities other participants have. Through a combination of local grant support and robust funding, we hope to renovate two of our bathrooms on the first floor into ‘walk-in’ showers that allow for people in chairs to shower and wash easily. As an organization that prides itself on accessibility and regularly hosts disabled teachers and participants, this is an essential step for usThis is a one time donation, with an ongoing impact.
